About Me
Hi, I’m Alivyah! I’ve been an esthetician for 6 years working in both the medical & holistic field.
I can’t wait to share my journey!

My Story
My journey into the world of skincare began with my sister, who struggled with severe acne during our childhood. She was determined to clear her skin and keep mine healthy, which sparked my interest in skincare and led me to initially aspire to become a dermatologist. That’s right—I wanted to pursue dermatology. However, after considering the 12 years of education and over $100,000 in costs, I realized that becoming a dermatologist might be a goal for a later stage in my life.
As I continued my exploration, I frequently encountered the term “esthetician school.” Curious about this path, I decided to conduct some research. It quickly became clear that this was the right career for me, and that’s when my search for a reputable esthetician school began.
Esthetic School, Jobs, Resumes, and the start of my career.
After making the decisive choice to become an esthetician, I found the Aveda Institute, where I dedicated the next six months to learning the art of facials, understanding which skin conditions to avoid, and delving into skin anatomy.
Upon graduating, I reached out to a company that had previously declined to hire me while I was in school due to scheduling conflicts. Serendipitously, the person who worked there had just quit, and they were eager to bring me on as their new spa coordinator. I worked there for a few months before obtaining my license and securing a position as an esthetician in a weight-loss spa, but I only lasted a few days. I then took on various roles in the industry, often feeling taken advantage of, until I eventually reached a breaking point.
Finding a job as an esthetician initially seemed straightforward; my résumé was solid, and I could land almost any position I wanted. However, the spa industry had become increasingly disheartening. I began to see the reality of the environment: as an employee, I felt like nobody cared about me, only about the revenue I brought in and how little they could pay me. Everything felt superficial and somewhat deceptive—until I remembered why I became an esthetician in the first place. My goal was to restore confidence in others, using my hands as tools to erase imperfections that contribute to low self-esteem. I entered this field to empower women and help them recognize their inherent beauty. I am still searching for my ideal space, whether that means establishing my own practice or working within a spa setting.
I invite you to join me on this journey. I will share what I have learned, and together, we may discover new insights along the way. Thank you for reading!
